Christmas CD Collection

With the coming holiday season, Made in Santa Cruz offers an unique and diverse musical selection. All of the artists below are all from the local region. Every CD in our collection is a blend of rare tunes that can really brighten the holidays up.

Woody Phillips and Friends. The melodious sounds of hand saws and power drills play your favorite Christmas carols.

This wonderful CD composed by Mary Mc Laughlin is a collection of Christmas carols and hymns all sung in the Irish Gaelic language. This composition is internationally acclaimed for her lush harmonies and atmospheric arrangements

Composed by Barry Phillips & friends. This recording brings together instrumental melodies from colonial America and the homelands of many colonists. Some of this music was newly composed in America at that time, and some is older folk tunes brought to America from Europe. This recording is a reflection from today, a look back at a variety of music that might well have been played at a Christmas party in colonial America.

Singing Christmas Dogs

This particularly unique holiday CD we just added to the store is a must your Christmas list. This would be perfect for dog loves or if you want to add a creative spice to someone's surprise. Veronica Elsea has created these unbelievable renditions of your beloved Christmas songs by recording seven guide dogs at play, then rearranging their words and phrases. No other instruments, humans or animals appear on this CD! Every sound you hear is a direct quote from a dog! Yes, the base, the chords, the melody, the beautiful four-part harmony.

Santa Cruz Holiday Dot Design

Tis the season to celebrate and represent Santa Cruz's Christmas spirit with our holiday dot design. This special seasonal shirt was designed by legendary skateboarding art legend Jim Phillips. Phillips, who has been the mainstream of popular skateboarding design since the golden age to the present, resides in the Eastside of Santa Cruz.

The black design comes with the classical red dot reinvented for the holidays.

Seventy five miles south of California's smallest bustling county of San Francisco is the state's second smallest county of Santa Cruz. Although modest in size, it is packed with natural treasures and inspiring beauty. Towering redwoods, exquisite waterfalls, secluded beaches, and over a dozen state parks, including the state's oldest, are all here.

Santa Cruz on the Monterey Bay is our newest book in the shop. Photos are a collection from the archives of Michael Miller and written by Bonnie Minford. This is a local reflection of the majestic scenary from Santa Cruz County.

Along with his other caldenders, this is his newest release.

Sista Monica

Presenting Sista Monica Parker

Monica Parker affectionately known on the international festival and concert scene is affectionately known as Sista Monica. Her newest 2008 CD release “Sweet Inspirations” is a compilation of heartfelt originals, and some of her favorite popular soul, gospel and inspirational songs of hope, faith and spirit for our times. Sista Monica is an award winning singer that started singing as a young girl in the church choir in the Midwest between Chicago, Illinois, Gary, Indiana (her home town) and Detroit, Michigan. In 1992, she re-discovered her voice and became a professional singer, songwriter and recording artist.

2009 Santa Cruz Calenders

These hot 2009 calenders are taken by local photographer Michael Santa Cruz. He travels around the area, takes all the photos personally, and produces these calenders all by himself. These calenders are true examples of of the local perspective.

Screaming Hand

Jim Phillips is the most influential surf and skate artist in history. Everyone has seen his artwork in one form or another. Jim has been there from the beginning in the golden age through the urethane age of skating, his Speed Wheels Screaming Hand design is his single most popular design. We carry this design in black and white t-shirts. We also have black, grey, and white sweatshirts in this logo.

The Oball is another fascinating innovation from our Santa Cruz region. The original Oball is made of 32 colorful, rubbery rings fused into a hollow sphere. Planet Cruz Comedy is one of these local vendors that inquire and examine these very issues through their dialogue.
